Cookie Policy
Last updated: October 30, 2026
This page explains the cookies and similar technologies used on the Serif Aga Jewelry Journal (blog.serifagajewelry.com) and how you can control them.
Your choices
When you first visit, a banner asks whether you allow optional cookies. Optional cookies stay off until you say yes. You can change your choice at any time with the Cookie settings link at the bottom of every page, or by clearing cookies in your browser.
Essential cookies (always on)
These keep the site secure and working. They do not track you across other websites.
- OCSESSID: keeps your visit working, for example the contact form. Set by this site and removed after 24 hours of inactivity.
- sg_consent: remembers your cookie choices so we do not ask again. Set by this site and kept for 6 months. Your choice is also stored in your browser's local storage under the same name.
Visit counting (no cookies)
We count visits on our own server to see which articles are read. A small marker (dgp_h) is kept in your browser's session storage so a visit is counted only once; it is deleted when you close the tab. No cookies are set and nothing is shared with other companies.
Analytics cookies (optional, off by default)
If you allow analytics, we may use Google Analytics to understand which pages are useful. It only loads after you give permission. It uses the cookies _ga and _ga_
Marketing cookies (optional, off by default)
We do not use marketing or advertising cookies today. If we ever add them, they will only be set after you allow them in your cookie settings.
Content from other services
- Google Fonts: our typefaces are loaded from Google's servers, which receive your IP address. No cookies are set.
- Etsy: product photos are loaded from Etsy's image servers, and product links take you to Etsy. Once you are on Etsy, Etsy's cookie policy applies.
You may also see cookies on the serifagajewelry.com domain that were set by our other websites. Those are covered by the notices on those sites.
Controlling cookies in your browser
Most browsers let you see, block and delete cookies in their settings. Blocking essential cookies may stop parts of this site from working.
